Mood disorders are at least a part of the problem underlying some gynecologic visits. Because women are affected by these disorders more frequently than men, it is important for women's healthcare professionals to have a good understanding of the symptoms, presentations, and therapy for common mood disorders.
There are a number of mood disorders that are commonly seen in obstetrics and gynecology. These include:
- Premenstrual Syndrom (PMS)
- Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
- Depression
- Anxiety
